i am getting very good at not pooping in the house. mum takes me outside very shortly after we wake up and we head down the laneway. there are lots of places to poop, so every morning i find a new spot.  mum praises me when i do.  i love my mum.

but sometimes accidents do happen, i am still a border collie puppy in training.  last night, well first thing this morning before the sun came up, i had to pee really really bad and i was trying to wake mum up but it wasn’t working.  sorry mum, i couldn’t hold it any longer. i hope that she still lets me sleep on the big bed tonight.

those kittens are constantly teasing me by jumping up on things so i cannot reach them.  they don’t seem to like it too much when i try to herd them into a corner.  but this though is what i do, i herd. here’s a little video that mum took of me and nosey, me trying to make sure she does not jump down.

bet you have been wondering where i have been for a couple of days. i have been busy. so much is going on!

my mum is trying to teach me to pee and poop outside. i understand. think i am close to teaching her when i have to go outside to do the pee and poop thing but maybe i should be a little more vocal. i’ll work on that one.

outside is HUGE. there is so much to do, so much to smell, i don’t know where to start. and now i see things up in the sky, mum calls them birds, and of course i try to chase them to no avail. i am also small enough to get through the fence into the great big open space.  my mum doesn’t like that and keeps calling me to “come here”.  i will once i have caught that bird.

at night time when it’s pee and poop time, it’s really dark and mum does not want me to wander far, so she puts this collar on me with a leash that i constantly try to chew so i won’t go very far. of course then i forget to pee.  i don’t like the collar so i promise i won’t go far.

sometimes mum has to leave, it’s this thing called work. she doesn’t like putting me a crate although i don’t mind it too much.  last night she put me in the bathroom with my crate and a gate at the door.  this way i have my sleeping spot and a room to play in. well i managed to get over the gate and greeted mum at the door.  she was impressed that i did not chew anything nor leave any pee and poop. but was worried that i might have hurt myself. wonder what will she will do next time she leaves? she has called me the little escape artist!

i’ll leave you with this picture, it’s the cat’s toy and i love it!  lots going to happen today, i can feel it in my bones!

right now i seem to be all about cuteness. well take a look at the picture below and you tell me. my mum keeps telling me that i am the cutest border collie. but i bet all mums and dads out there that have border collie puppies say the same thing. we are just full of cuteness.

another car ride today. i was really tired after a morning of exploring but was definitely up for a car ride. mum took me to a couple of places. in and out of the car to recieve kisses and hugs from everyone. i really like car rides. i wanted to get down from her arms but mum was concerned that i might pee on their carpet and then i may not be invited back, don’t want that to happen.

my pee time and poop time, well it’s hard to hold sometimes but i am getting better and my mum praises me all the time when i do it in the snow. i am doing my best to understand humans, they are quite strange at times.

my crate, my little home when mum is not here. thank goodness she does not leave for too long and she leaves music on for me too. wonder if i could give her requests?

and the best thing that happened today was that i discovered puddles!!

yes, i admit it, right now i am a mummy’s boy. i just love all those cuddles and kisses i get.  when we go for walks, i make sure i am right there beside her. my mum keeps telling me what a good boy i am. and when srange people come to visit, i am right by her side where i suppose to be.

i learnt two things today. one was lots of fun the other was not.

first, i don’t mind being in my crate but i sure don’t like it when my mum leaves. she left me for what seemed hours and hours but infact was only two apparently but i was howling when she got back and really happy to see her. later she left me again but the music was still on and no howling this time but i was tired this afternoon cos i didn’t have my nap!  and i had to help shovel all this white stuff called snow. i tried to help by barking at the shovel, is this the right thing to do?

and second, when it’s pee time now, i will go down the step by myself and i have discovered that i can play hide and seek with mum by running around the garage.  all the time i hear her calling my name and i know i should come but there is so much to explore i get side tracked. honest, mum i know where the front door is, i won’t wander far, promise.

oh and lucy our cat is meowing like crazy, my mum says she’s in heat, doesn’t sound very nice. she has even come up to me when she thinks i am asleep and puts her nose to mine.  i let her cos i know we are going to be really good friends very soon.

so much has gone on today, i really am tired. wonder what tomorrow will bring.

my mum keeps scooping me up and taking me outside. i don’t like the step down into the unknown, of course no problem to go back inside where it’s nice and warm. once outside we either go for a walk down the road in front of my new home or mum stands there shivering saying pee-time seven, pee pee time. sometimes really hard not to pee inside, honest i don’t mean to. i’ll work on that one, promise.

the last two nights, when its dark and there are no lights on, i slept on this big bed with my mum beside me. how nice is that? it’s a long way down to the floor so i haven’t tried to jump down in the dark, later for that one.
no car ride today. i quite like those. we visited lots of people yesterday. i recognized one person, the nice lady who came with my mum to take me to my new home. but i didn’t know the others. they were really nice too and i think i will be going there often. this adventure is going to be so much fun.

so much has happened in the last 24hours, not sure where to begin. but when that really nice lady, my new mum showed up again, i knew big changes were going to happen. she scooped me up in her arms and i gave her lots of kisses. we quickly left the house because my first human mum was feeling very poorly and she couldn’t even give me a kiss goodbye but i know we will see her again this summer, they promised me that.

and then i was on my mum’s lap in what is called a car.  i wanted to explore but i couldn’t so i talked all the way. wasn’t really sure what was going on! after what seemed a very long time, we stopped. then these amazing smells came into the car but again i couldn’t. nevermind because i really wasn’t hungry, too much going on!  then we stopped again and i got into another car with just my mum.  i quickly made it to the back seat and was falling asleep and then we stopped again.  good job too because i really had to pee!
then she scooped me up and took me inside a new house, my new home. all these new smells and 2 cats!  i thought one was one of my siblings, same size, same colour and i side checked her.  found out rather quickly that she was not.  after i settled in and smelt just about everything, i had dinner and promptly fell asleep.
whew, what a day!  lots more to come, life is good! see you tomorrow.

the other day this person called a vet checked me out. i was poked in all sorts of places, not really sure what they were looking for.  they did tell my human mum that i was good to go and a very healthy border collie puppy.  i weigh 8.6 pounds, must be all that good food i eat.
march 10th is not very far now even though i have not mastered the counting of days but i am sure that will come because we as border collies are of the utmost intelligence, so i am told.  march 10 is the day of my big move to my new home, it’s going to be so much fun.
i will miss my brothers and sisters but i am sure they will be going to lovely new homes too.
most of all though i will miss spot, he’s going to be staying with mum and dad. we have become best friends, playing and getting into mischief all the time.
my human mum keeps repeating the word “seven” to me cos that is what my new mum has called me. i like it!
you won’t hear too much from me until i move to my new home and then the tale/tail of seven will grow and grow just like me. so you won’t forget me, here’s another picture.

i continue to grow, continue to find new things to do, everything is so exciting but nothing beats that food bowl right now. all eight of us eat till we fall asleep so we can start all over again.
my human mum sent pictures of me to my new mum, so she can see how much i have grown and what a handsome border collie i am becoming. don’t you just love my blue eye and those freckles on my nose.
she says i love to play and am quite the little rascal! time is passing very quickly towards my move and there is a whole new world waiting for me to explore. my new mum is going to have so much fun with me, i can hardly wait.

my human mum has told me that my moving date away from from real mum is march 10. i’m not sure what march 10 means but i do know though that i am really looking forward to sharing my life with my new mum, that really nice lady who i told all my stories and gave lots of kisses.

she is really excited to have another border collie and i will try my best to be a good dog, a good border collie but i will make mistakes, so please be patient with me.

i will be sharing my new house with 2 cats, look at them below.  i better behave myself.  i am told that they have very sharp claws and will try to grab me. i must learn not to chase them but they too are very young so we will grow up together and probably get into trouble together.  i will make sure they do not wander far and will bring them back to our house cos that’s what border collies do apparently.

each day i am getting bigger and stronger just like my brothers and sisters.  we play a lot, then collapse and sleep so we can do it all over again.

hope my human mum will send a new picture of me so i can show you how much i have grown and how handsome i am!
